We want to help other people to feel the benefits of gardening, just like we did when we started our allotment in 2018. Through our flower farm, we are setting up activities to promote people's health, wellbeing and even possible future career aspirations! We intend to run as many of our community activities as possible for free.
We are based on the same site as the Claver Hill Community Farm, who very kindly lend us a piece of their land to farm our flowers on. We work closely with the other projects based at Claver Hill to run and host community activities. For more information about Claver Hill, please see their Facebook page.
To find out more about our upcoming sessions and plans, please have a read below. If you would like to join in any of the activities, please sign up to our email newsletter to be notified when booking is open.
Farming might not necessarily be a career that people have had in mind - it certainly wasn't for us when we were growing up! To help others to access a career in flower farming, especially young people who may not have considered it before, we will be running and taking part in activities with young people to introduce them to flower farming. We hope that it will lead to young people appreciating farming, the environment and hopefully to considering a career in farming.
Growing plants, gardening and generally being outdoors has been proven to greatly increase positive mental health and wellbeing. With this in mind, we will be running various activities to help people access flower-growing, specifically to help improve and maintain their mental health and wellbeing. Please sign up to our email newsletter to be kept up-to-date with plans and details as they are finalised.
We are an environmentally-friendly farm and are developing activities to introduce people to ways of growing flowers that benefit the environment. Our first session on this topic is our Introduction to Bee-keeping and Pollinator Patches. Please see the workshops page for more details and to book your place.
